S & C Electric Company Global Headquarters Tour

WINDPOWER 2013 / S&C ELECTRIC COMPANY TOUR
S&C is one of the oldest and largest manufacturers in Chicago and is opening its doors to show how they have become a leader in the implementation of wind power. Founded in 1911, S&C’s headquarters spans over 40 acres with over 1 million square feet of manufacturing under roof. Attendees will be bussed to historic Rogers Park and take part in an interactive tour of the facilities that produce the S&C equipment that make wind energy possible including Wind- Turbine Style Vista® Switchgear and S&C’s System VI™ Switchgear.
Attendees will then visit S&C’s Advanced Technology Center which is the largest short-circuit testing lab in North America. Next they will visit S&C’s Global Support and Monitoring Center which conducts 24/7 monitoring of the critical equipment that keeps wind farms around the globe connected to the grid. The tour will be concluded in S&C’s Product Demonstration Center for refreshments and a live demonstration that will show how the smart grid works and how wind energy is a critical part of it. Bus will pick registrants up at 3:00 p.m. at the McCormick Convention Center. Tour details will be e-mailed to registered attendees one-week prior to the tour.
- 3:00 p.m. – Pick up at McCormick Place (bus location TBA)
- 3:30 p.m. – Bus Arrives at S&C
- 3:30 p.m. – Tour of S&C
- 6:00 p.m. – Bus leaves S&C
- 6:45 p.m. – Bus stops at S&C Post-Show Event “Buddy Guy’s Legends, Chicago”
